T – 21 days: Indoor Archery World Cup in Singapore

By 16/11/2012Archery

The question of “quality versus quantity” has always been in my mind ever since I’ve started practicing archery. What’s better? To shoot many arrows (aiming to reach a certain arrow count – let’s say 200-300/day) or to shoot fewer (but in full concentration/competition mode)?

I tend to believe that the right answer is, as always, somewhere in the middle. It is important to shoot many arrows to build up muscle strength and stamina, but it also important to shoot with a good form and concentrate on every shot as if you were in a world cup final match.

I tend to alternate these two, with a few days of quantity shooting followed by “slower” days, when I concentrate fully on every shot. Hopefully, this December, when I’ll be on the shooting line at the Indoor Archery World Cup in Singapore I’ll be able to maintain my concentration and preserve my strength throughout the tournament.

3 more weeks to go!
