The Positive Psychology Journey is my way of applying and implementing Positive Psychology to Life, Business & Sports in order to Empower Personal Growth.

It is a journey of self-empowerment through which I hope to achieve an Upgraded Lifestyle.

What is Positive Psychology?

“The field of positive psychology at the subjective level is about valued subjective experiences: well-being, contentment, and satisfaction (in the past); hope and optimism (for the future); and flow and happiness (in the present). At the individual level, it is about positive individual traits: the capacity for love and vocation, courage, interpersonal skill, aesthetic sensibility, perseverance, forgiveness, originality, future mindedness, spirituality, high talent, and wisdom. At the group level, it is about the civic virtues and the institutions that move individuals toward better citizenship: responsibility, nurturance, altruism, civility, moderation, tolerance, and work ethic.” – Martin E. P. Seligman & Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi (Positive Psychology: An Introduction)

“Positive psychology to me is really based on the idea that there is really much more right with us than there is wrong. So positive psychology says, let’s find out what your strengths are and what’s working well for you and enhance and emphasize and refine those things. So positive psychology is facilitator rather than prescriptive. And based on those strengths, then we build on a psychology of wellness and helping the client reach their goals.” – Dr. Dan Guerra, psychologist and psychotherapist based in New York

“If patients can recognize their strengths and build upon them, then they can really shift their mindset and the way that they interact in the world with others. If we can begin to see the glass half full, then we really do attract positive energy to us as well.” – Shira Aliza Silton, therapist and clinical social worker based in New York
