What are you doing this year for Songkran – the Thai Water Festival? Most people living in Thailand want to get out of Bangkok and splash water left and right, hang out with their friends, and celebrate with good food and drinks. But, if you’re heading up to Chiang Mai, then you might want to do something different this year.
How about enrolling in Gary Orman’s Reading and Speaking Thai Course, which will be held between April 8-13, from Monday to Saturday, from 9am to 6pm? The course costs 30,000 baht and includes the Rapid Read Thai ebook. If you’ve already bought the book, the cost of the course is reduced by whatever you’ve already paid.
If you’re a total beginner, during this workshop, you will spend the morning learning to read. If you have some knowledge of the Thai alphabet, you’ll be reviewing it, concentrating on details and subtleties that you might have missed the first time around. In the afternoons, you will practice speaking and understanding Thai using the “face gym” and “stick figure” methods, a Thai language learning method designed by Gary Orman.
But, the learning doesn’t stop at the workshop in Chiang Mai. Gary’s got a year’s worth of follow up material and support. After the course, you will be sent mini lessons by email to review and consolidate what you’ve learnt, along with the “Anki” electronic flashcards for memorizing all the words you covered in the course.
