- It links Phra Nakhon and Thonburi, two areas in Bangkok separated by the Chao Phraya River.
- It is also known as Bangkok’s financial center.
- It is lined with skyscrapers, corporate offices, banks, and luxury condominiums.
- MahaNakhon, Thailand’s tallest building, is visible from Sathorn Road.
- The embassies of Australia, Denmark, Germany, Malaysia, Slovakia, and the Vatican City are located here.
- The south-western end of road ends with Taksin Bridge that crosses the Chao Phraya River.
